Tôi nghe như vầy:
Một thời đức Phật trú tại vườn Cấp Cô Độc, rừng cây Kỳ-đà, tại nước Xá-vệ. Bấy giờ, Phật bảo các Tỳ-kheo:
“Nếu có một người mà xuất hiện ở thế gian, thì chúng sanh ở đây liền tăng ích tuổi thọ, nhan sắc tươi nhuận, khí lực sung mãn, khoái lạc vô cùng, âm thanh hòa nhã. Một người ấy là ai? Là Như Lai Chí chơn, Đẳng chánh giác. Đây g̣ọi là một người mà xuất hiện ở thế gian, khiến chúng sanh ở đây liền tăng ích tuổi thọ, nhan sắc tươi nhuận, khí lực sung mãn, khoái lạc vô cùng, âm thinh hòa nhã.”
“Cho nên, này các Tỳ-kheo, hãy thường chuyên tinh nhất tâm niệm Phật. Như vậy, này các Tỳ-kheo, hãy học điều này.”
Các Tỳ-kheo sau khi nghe những gì Phật dạy, hoan hỷ phụng hành.
Kệ tóm tắt:
Không mạn, hai niệm, đàn,
Hai thí, keo không chán;
Thí phước, ma Ba-tuần,
Nẻo ác, và một người.
聞如是：
一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨 T 0566a14園。
爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「若有一人出現於 T 0566a15世，此眾生類便增壽益算，顏色光潤，氣力熾 T 0566a16盛，快樂無極，音聲和雅。云何為一人？所謂 T 0566a17如來、至真、等正覺。此謂一人出現於世，此 T 0566a18眾生類便增壽益算，顏色光潤，氣力熾盛，快 T 0566a19樂無極，音聲和雅。是故，諸比丘！常當專精一 T 0566a20心念佛。如是，諸比丘！當作是學。」
爾時，諸比 T 0566a21丘聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。

SC 1Thus I have heard: One time, the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in Jeta’s Grove of Śrāvastī.
SC 2It was then that the Bhagavān addressed the monks, “When one person appears in the world, it increases the life spans of sentient beings and makes their complexions brighter, their health more vigorous, their happiness unsurpassed, and their voices gentle. Who is that one person? It’s the Tathāgata, the Arhat, and the Completely Awakened One. He is that one person who appears in the world and increases the life spans of sentient beings and makes their complexions brighter, their health more vigorous, their happiness unsurpassed, and their voices gentle.
SC 3“Therefore, monks, always focus and unify your mind on recollecting the Buddha. Thus, monks, you should train yourselves.”
SC 4When the monks heard what the Buddha taught, they rejoiced and approved.
Summary Verse
Two on no pride, recollecting generosity,
Two on giving, the stingy and the tireless,
Merits of giving, Māra the Wicked One,
Bad destinies, and one person.
