TTC 2Thật khó tìm được, này các Tỷ-kheo, một người xuất gia lớn tuổi lại khéo nói; thật khó tìm được một người có khả năng nắm giữ cái gì khéo nắm giữ; thật khó tìm được một người có cử chỉ tốt đẹp; thật khó tìm được một người thuyết pháp; thật khó tìm được một người trì luật.
Này các Tỷ-kheo, thật khó tìm được một người xuất gia lớn tuổi lại thành tựu năm pháp này.
Pañcahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato dullabho vuḍḍhapabbajito.
Katamehi pañcahi?
Dullabho, bhikkhave, vuḍḍhapabbajito suvaco, dullabho suggahitaggāhī, dullabho padakkhiṇaggāhī, dullabho dhammakathiko, dullabho vinayadharo.
Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato dullabho vuḍḍhapabbajito”ti.
Dasamaṁ.
Nīvaraṇavaggo paṭhamo.
Tassuddānaṁ
Āvaraṇaṁ rāsi aṅgāni,
samayaṁ mātuputtikā;
Upajjhā ṭhānā licchavi,
kumārā aparā duveti.
SC 1“Bhikkhus, it is rare to find one gone forth in old age who possesses five qualities. What five? It is rare to find one gone forth in old age (1) who is easy to correct; an.iii.79 (2) who firmly retains in mind what he has learned; (3) who accepts instruction respectfully; (4) who can speak on the Dhamma; and (5) who is an expert on the discipline. It is rare to find one gone forth in old age who possesses these five qualities.”
